Intro to Zen
Several times a year, we offer a short introduction to Zen and Buddhism, as well as zazen meditation. Our next one is on April 28th, 9am to 1pm.
Introduction to Zen: Principles and Practices
On Saturday, April 28, the Puget Sound Zen Center will hold a half-day class on the principles and practices of Zen. The class will include an introduction to the practice of zazen (sitting meditation), background information on the questions of who the Buddha was and what he taught, a historical sketch of Zen Buddhism and the Rinzai tradition, and discussion of the basic principles of Zen. The class will also discuss and practice aspects of the Zen form observed by the Puget Sound Zen Center, including tea, chanting, and zazen. There will be ample opportunity for questions and discussion.
The class will be led by Sissel Johannessen, Moira Gray and guest teacher Jodo John Candy. To sign up, see below!
